Assistant Shipping Supervisor
Job Summary
Hands-on supervisor overseeing all aspects of the shipping docks and continuously working to drive on-time deliveries while ensuring efficient packing and loading of orders.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for overseeing all daily dock shipping activities
- Supervise shipping forklift drivers and material handlers.
- Coordinate timely pulling and staging of all outbound orders to ship daily, working closely with the internal warehouse department.
- Work closely with warehouse and internal departments on shortages and order changes.
- Coordinate packing and loading of all shipments.
- Work closely with the internal shipping department on OTR driver, trailer coordination, and pickups.
- Monitor the carrier’s drivers and time of arrival and ensure that pick-up times are met.
- Involvement in daily meetings to review current and future order requirements.
- Involvement in the continuous development of process improvements and productivity enhancements.
- Support and enforce the 6-S sanitation process within the shipping department.
- Monitor staffing levels to meet daily shipping requirements.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a larger-scaled warehouse, supervising the warehouse picking, shipping, or receiving function.
- Experience with barcode solutions in a warehouse or plant environment a plus.
- Experience with MRP/ERP system
Skills:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead by example and cultivate a positive work environment.
- Must prioritize, organize, and have good follow-up skills.
- Detail-oriented; with the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus
- A strong self-motivator with the desire to learn

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is budgeted for $44,720-67,080, with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary depends on various factors and could be above or below the range depending on the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, business needs, and market demand. The full salary range for this role reflects this position's competitive labor market value and provides an opportunity to progress as associates grow and develop within the role. Bonuses are paid based on RTC’s financial results. Any payouts awarded in the first year of employment are pro-rated based on the start date. Program rules are subject to change at management’s discretion.
