Job Description

Job Overview—Works directly with Senior Electrical Engineers to assist in developing of new designs and solutions. This role will be required to be onsite in our Rolling Meadows office on a daily basis. 

General Responsibilities

·         Assemble prototype circuit boards and wire assemblies

·         Work with Senior Electrical Engineer to test and evaluate prototypes and samples.

·         Provide general technical support to individuals both in and out of the technology department

·         Perform testing of engineering samples and prototypes and prepare reports of the results suitable for internal and customer presentations.

·         Perform other basic organizational lab duties and maintenance

·         Utilize project management tools and techniques to organize and document work, including Gantt charts, JIRA, Confluence, and other appropriate tools

 Technical Experience

·         Ability to hand assemble wire harnesses and use supplied engineering drawings to verify functionality and compatibility 

·         Ability to use a digital multimeter for basic functionality checks and testing

·         Ability to use soldering tools for circuit board assembly, place small components using tweezers and magnifying equipment to verify quality placement

·         Familiarity with Altium PCB design software

·         Ability to understand circuit designs, schematics, circuit calculations, and component specifications

 

Education

Education – Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant experience

Experience

General Skills and Experience

·         Familiarity with 2D CAD for Illustrating wiring diagrams and cable assemblies

·         Experience with general testing/measurement techniques for electronics and photometric performance

·         Competent in technical reports and specification writing with minimal supervision/ guidance

·         Work independently in problem solving & analysis applying standard engineering techniques

·         Display discipline to fully document problem statements, observations, conclusions, calculations, and recommendations, as well as sound problem-solving skills

 

Qualifications

·         Education – Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant experience

·         Experience - Requires a minimum of 2-3 years of experience
