Responsibilities
- Construct basic fixtures when applicable for the Production department.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on various types of RTC Production equipment.
- Assist with the implementation of new equipment, tooling, fixtures, and processes into the production environment.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Remove and replace defective parts by dismantling and repairing equipment and devices using basic hand and power tools.
- Adjusts functional parts of equipment and devices by using hand tools.
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Provide various forms of departmental support.
- Effectively communicate and work with outside contractors and vendors when applicable.
- Maintains department and work areas in a clean and orderly manner in accordance with all 6S standards.
- Work in a safe manner, follow all safety rules and report any potential safety hazards to management.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Plan CNC machine operation utilizing shop order information as well as engineering drawings.
- Set-up CNC by installing and adjusting tools and attachments to achieve the required positioning.
- Inspect CNC machine and first article products for overall quality verifying that machine settings and positions are producing parts to specifications.
- Perform daily maintenance on CNC machine.
- Work directly with Rolling Meadows CNC group as needed.
- Source replacement components and equipment upgrades for all existing production equipment.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of related production and/or maintenance support experience.
- Proficient in the safe and productive use of general maintenance tools and equipment.
- Strong computer skills.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner with a high level of professionalism and quality.
- Strong math skills for calculating dimensions required for machine set-up.
- Ability to analyze engineering drawings to ensure the final product matches specifications.
- Understanding of CNC machine operation to ensure proper functionality and maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills for the detection and correction of CNC program issues to ensure the machinery creates products to specifications.
- Must be capable and willing to learn new skill sets.
- Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, and twist
- Must be flexible with start and finish times and available to work overtime when needed
Compensation
*This is a Union Position and pays $19.50/HR
Eligible for Overtime pay after working 8 hours a day Monday-Friday and time and a half for all hours worked on Saturdays
